VR27 - Assess the client and blend oils for aromatherapy massage

VR28 - Provide aromatherapy massage

VR160 - Demonstrate comsultation skills for therapy assessment

VR02 Support Health, Safety and Security in the Workplace

VR74 Support Employment Standards

Aromatherapy is the specialist application of essential oils which is used in a variety of contexts including uplift, relaxation, stress relief and remedial not subject to medical prohibition and connected to palliative care.

This is a comprehensive NVQ qualification covering the selection and blending of essential oils together with the provision of aromatherapy massage, requiring a knowledge of at least 30 essential oils and 5 carrier oils.

This Diploma also includes the VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Health, Safety, Security and Employment Standards. This course is a mandatory part of all Holistic, Sports Therapy & NVQ courses. If however you have already gained this Diploma in the last 3 years you will not have to complete it again providing evidence can be shown.

Assessment: This qualification requires the candidate to provide evidence of competence in the form of case studies or individual treatments to cover range statements, and demonstrate sufficient knowledge to be able to explain Aromatherapy and provide it safely, effectively and consistently. Independent study is an essential part of this course and you will be required to complete both practical and theoretical assignments at home. Assessments will take place during the course and on the final assessment day.

Prerequisites: Candidates are recommended to have a level of general education comparable to GCSEs and must hold a current recognised Massage qualification such as Level 3 Swedish Body Massage or equivalent.
