How to Fake a Natural Looking Tan
With the winter just around the corner, you may be considering how to get your pasty white body looking beautifully sun-kissed during the cold winter months. There are a number of ways of doing this.
Firstly, you could use a sunbed. These are either available to rent for home-use or you could go to a tanning salon. To build a beautiful tan you would need to expose your body to artificial UV rays on a regular basis for several months. This is not only costly, but also potentially harmful to your skin as exposure to UV rays can lead to skin cancer. Luckily there are a number of other options available to you.
Another option is to use a home self-tanning kit. These are relatively inexpensive and can be bought from practically any beauty store or even from the supermarket at this time of year. The secret to applying an even, all-over tan is to prepare your skin well in advance. Make sure your skin is fuzz-free and really hydrated before application. Then sparingly apply the self-tanning lotion all over the body. After application, carefully wash your hands and leave the recommended number of hours to build into a natural-looking tan. To get a darker tan, reapply a few days later.
You may also try to achieve that beautifully sun-kissed look through a salon spray tan. Although slightly more expensive than home DIY kits, spray tans give a more even and natural looking result. As with self-tan lotions, the secret is to prepare your skin in advance of your spray tan.
Start considering your options now to ensure that by the time the summer arrives, your skin is ready to show off in all it’s tanned glory.
