The module is the most detailed on our beauty range at eight units. Unusually, it carries its own units on skin types, products and contra-indications rather than relying on the general skin module, because the heat and oils involved change what is and is not suitable.

What To Learn Alongside The Luxury Facial

What You’ll Need To Practise

A facial skincare range, massage oils, hot towels and a way to warm them, plus bowls, sponges, headband and the usual consultation and hygiene supplies. Our Facial Kit covers the skincare side; the oils, towels and warmer you source separately. The kit is optional — if you already retail a skincare line, practise with that.

How Long Does the Luxury Facial Course Take?

There are 31 units across four modules — the most of any single beauty course we run, because the treatment module alone is eight units. Much of that is product and suitability knowledge rather than hands-on technique, so the reading takes longer here than on most courses. Most students complete their training within a few weeks to a few months.

How Is the Course Delivered?

Entirely online. The massage and hot towel sequences are the parts to watch closely — both are about timing and temperature rather than pressure, and both are easier to see than to describe. You practise on your own models.

How Am I Assessed?

All 31 units are assessed, with unlimited resubmissions. Because this module has its own contra-indications unit, a good part of the assessment is about knowing when heat and oil are the wrong choice — not only about delivering them well.

Is the Luxury Facial Course Accredited?

Yes — by ABT, IPHM and IGCT. The certificate is recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens, each of which sets its own requirements, so check with yours before taking bookings.

Do I Need to Do the Standard Facial Course First?

No. This course carries its own skin types, products and procedure units, so it stands alone. Many therapists take both, because having a standard and a luxury option lets the client choose the price rather than choosing whether to book at all.

What Does the Kit Include?

The Facial Kit covers the skincare products the routine uses. The hot towels, warmer and massage oils that make this a luxury facial rather than a standard one are not in it, so budget for those separately — a towel warmer is the one piece of equipment this treatment genuinely needs.

Do I Need Any Experience?

No. The Anatomy and Physiology module covers the muscular and lymphatic systems, which is the groundwork behind facial massage — knowing what you are working over is what separates a massage that does something from one that just feels pleasant.

What Business Training Is Included?

The Foundation module’s 12 units cover business promotion, promoting products and services, retail legislation, reception duties and taking payments. This is a premium-priced treatment, so the pricing and promotion units are where to focus — it has to be sold as an experience, not a longer facial.
