It commands the highest price of the single treatments we teach, it is booked as a course of sessions rather than a one-off, and it needs the most care around consultation and aftercare — which is why the course is the longest.

Twelve units carry the treatment. They start with the history of skin needling and the two devices, work through how the treatment functions, transdermal absorption, collagen induction and the benefits, then settle into the practical: contra-indications, needle lengths, treatment scheduling, and a separate full routine for the roller and for the pen. With Foundation, Anatomy and Physiology and Skin Healthcare, the course runs to 35 units.

What To Learn Alongside Microneedling

Microneedling is usually the last treatment a therapist adds, once the gentler ones are established. Chemical peels are the closest in price and in client type, and the two together cover most of what someone researching skin resurfacing will ask for. LED light therapy is often run afterwards while the skin settles. Dermaplaning and microdermabrasion are the easier starting points if you are building from nothing.

How Long Does The Microneedling Course Take?

This is our longest single skin course at 35 units, twelve of them on the treatment itself. It is not one to rush — the two practical routines are taught separately and deserve separate practice. A few weeks is realistic alongside work, and you keep access for life, which most students use to revisit the needle length unit.

Can I Really Learn Microneedling Online?

The two devices are demonstrated separately on video, which is genuinely useful — in a classroom you would usually see one and hear about the other. Depth and speed are what you build with practice, so work on volunteers at the shortest needle length until your passes are even before going deeper.

How Am I Assessed?

All 35 units are assessed online as you work through them. Every unit is assessed, and if an assessment needs another try there is no limit on resubmissions and no extra charge. The roller and pen routines are assessed as separate units, so you cannot pass one on the strength of the other — which is deliberate, because the handling differs.

Is The Microneedling Course Accredited?

No. This is a professional training course with a certificate on completion. Microneedling is the treatment most likely to need more than training alone — insurers commonly ask about needle depth limits, and some local authorities require a treatment licence for skin piercing, so check both before you advertise.

Do I Need To Be Qualified In Beauty Already?

This is the course where existing experience matters most. You are breaking the skin barrier, the contra-indication list is the longest of any treatment we teach, and the consequences of missing one are real. We would not recommend microneedling as a first advanced treatment — start with dermaplaning or microdermabrasion and come to this once consultation is second nature.

What Equipment Do I Need?

A derma roller and a microneedling pen if you want to offer both, with sterile single-use cartridges or heads, plus a numbing option, appropriate serums and aftercare products. Needles are single use every time without exception. Nothing is supplied by us, and the consumables are an ongoing cost.

Does It Cover The Business Side?

Yes, in the twelve-unit Foundation module. Microneedling is the highest-priced treatment we teach as a standalone course and is almost always sold as a package of sessions, so the promotion and payments units repay attention — as does the insurance unit, given how much insurers care about this particular treatment.
