My Name is Amanda Meppem and I live in Attleborough, Norfolk with my partner. I have two teenage children as well as two teenage step children.
Prior to completing my courses I was a food retail manager and then once I had my children became a teaching assistant, mostly working with special needs children. Needing a way of making money, in 2011, I began to look for ways of achieving this without sacrificing time with the children and thought that becoming a holistic therapist would be a great way to achieve this, as I could work clients around the children’s activities. Being local, I knew of Next Step Beauty so decided to take a closer look at the courses they offered and the resources available to students. I discovered that I could complete the Indian Head Massage Course, Body Massage Course and the Hot Stone Massage Course, all of which were accredited, which would allow me to get insurance to start my own business. Not only was there practical tuition, but they also offered home study material including full tutorial videos to allow me to continue to learn while away from the class. Booking the courses was simple and I was soon on my way to achieving my goals.
I attended the course practical days at the companies Norwich training centre with Denise as my tutor. I found that the level of knowledge and quality of teaching far surpassed my expectations and since completing the courses, the support I have received has been exceptional. I often pick Denise’s brains and pop into the centre to discuss any ideas I have and always receive a warm welcome.
Since completing my courses, I have been able to start my own mobile holistic therapy business and am pleased to now be my own boss, working the hours which suit, enabling me to achieve the goal of working around my children and home life. I am already booked onto the Hopi Ear Candles Course and hope to do more with Next Step Beauty in the future.
