This is for you if you want the whole nail menu rather than a starting point. Beginners take it — there is no prerequisite and it opens with personal standards and hygiene — but it suits you especially if you already know you want this to be your trade rather than an experiment.
It also suits a working technician who learned one or two systems and keeps meeting clients she cannot help. Rather than buying four more courses one at a time, this covers every system we teach in a single enrolment.
It is not the cheapest way in. If you want the core skills and nothing else, the Complete Nail Technician Course is five courses at a lower price.
Every nail course we run shares the same Foundation, anatomy and nail healthcare theory. Bought separately, you would study those nineteen units eleven times over.
Here you do them once, and the remaining forty-five units are all technique — manicure, pedicure, five enhancement systems, sculpting and both nail art courses. The package also costs less than the ten courses that are sold individually, and fibreglass and silk is not sold on its own at all.
Eleven courses, each with its own certificate:
Plus a Tip Application module in its own right, the three shared theory modules, business training, our private student groups, and the ten-book Beauty Business eBook bundle.
Fifteen modules and sixty-four assessed units. By the end there is very little a client can ask for that you cannot do.
There is no intake date and no waiting list. Enrol today and the whole syllabus opens up, with the option to spread the cost over three payments using Klarna or Clearpay.
After that the pace is yours. Lifetime access, no deadline, unlimited resubmissions, and a certificate for each of the eleven courses as you finish them, so you can be charging for manicure and gel polish while you are still working through sculpting. Business training is included and you get access to our private student groups from day one.
This is a big undertaking and worth being realistic about — think months rather than weeks. You can do this.
Five enhancement systems means five sets of products, and that is the honest answer about what this package costs beyond the course fee. You will need nail prep and sanitiser, files and buffers, a UV or LED lamp, tips and nail forms, acrylic liquid and powder, hard gel, soft gel, dip powder, fibreglass or silk wrap and resin, gel polish base, colour and top coat, nail art tools, and remover.
You do not need all of it on day one. Work module by module and buy for the system you are studying — the course order is deliberately built that way.
Our Ultimate Nail Kit covers the whole package in one order if you would rather not assemble it piece by piece. Products you already own are fine; nothing in the course is tied to a brand.
The Complete Nail Technician Course is five courses — manicure, gel polish, gel extensions, acrylic and Builder in a Bottle — and is the cheaper way to get working. The Ultimate Nail Course is eleven, adding pedicure, quick dip, fibreglass and silk, sculpting, hard gel and both nail art courses. Pick Complete if you want the core skills at the lowest price; pick Ultimate if you want the whole menu and would rather not buy courses one at a time later.
No. It starts at personal standards, hygiene and setting up a work area, and the first treatment module is manicure. Complete beginners are who this package is built for.
Longer than a single course, and there is no deadline. Nineteen units are the shared theory and 45 are treatment work across eleven techniques, each wanting its own practice on real hands. Months rather than weeks is realistic, and lifetime access means you can come back to a system later when a client asks for it.
A certificate for each course in the package, issued as you complete them, so you can start taking bookings for manicure and gel polish long before you finish sculpting.
All 64 units are assessed, with unlimited resubmissions and no extra charge. Victoria Arpels, BA (Hons), Cert Ed, demonstrates every technique on video and marks the assessed work herself.
Yes — by ABT, IPHM and IGCT.
Our courses are recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens. Each insurer sets its own requirements, so check with the one you intend to use before you start taking bookings.
Yes. Pay in 3 is available with Klarna or Clearpay at checkout.
You can ask questions as you work through the units, and you get access to our private student groups. On a package this size that matters more than on a single course, because you will be the person asking about acrylic in month two and answering someone else’s acrylic question in month five.
Your diploma is issued by Next Step Beauty and carries accreditation from the bodies below. Those accreditations are what insurers look for when you come to arrange cover.
Your login details arrive by email as soon as you enrol, and the platform works on a computer, tablet or phone. Each unit has tutorial videos and an eBook covering the theory, followed by a multiple-choice assessment you can retake as often as you need. Completing a module unlocks the next one.
Once you have worked through the theory, you submit case studies of your practical work. Your tutor assesses them against industry standards and gives you written feedback. If they ask for changes, you can resubmit as many times as you need, at no extra cost.
When you complete the course you receive a diploma certificate, available to download straight away and yours to keep. Your course materials stay available for life, so you can go back over anything later.

Victoria Arpels
Founder and Head of Training
Victoria started where most of our students start. She trained in beauty therapy while working as a therapist in a busy spa — learning the theory in one place and practising on real clients in the other.
Then she kept adding to what she could offer, building up treatment by treatment through intensive specialist courses, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Certificate in Education, and to lecture in further education. She has been the student learning an unfamiliar technique and the tutor assessing someone else’s work, which is a large part of why our courses are built the way they are.
She founded Next Step Beauty in 2008 because getting good training still came down to what you could afford and how close you happened to be to a college. More than 100,000 students have trained with us since.
She has stayed close to the teaching rather than stepping back from it. As Head of Training, Victoria works with the tutor team who assess the case studies you submit and write the feedback that comes back to you, and she is personally involved in the private student groups. Whichever course you choose, you are learning from people who had to practise it themselves first.
