A facial is the most rebooked treatment in skincare. It is a full appointment slot at a sensible price, it gives you a reason to talk to the client about their skin, and it opens the door to retail — a client who trusts your facial will buy the products you recommend. It is also the groundwork. Microdermabrasion, peels, dermaplaning and the rest of the advanced menu all assume you can read a skin, prepare it and work on it confidently. This is where that starts. The course runs online, with Victoria demonstrating the routine in step-by-step video.

What You’ll Be Able To Do

• Read a client’s skin type and choose products to suit it
• Prepare the client, the couch and the trolley for a full facial
• Cleanse, tone, exfoliate, mask and moisturise in a workable sequence
• Perform a facial massage with the pressure and rhythm the treatment depends on
• Recognise skin diseases and disorders and know when to refer rather than treat
• Give aftercare and recommend homecare that supports the treatment

What You’ll Need To Practise

Cleanser, toner, exfoliant, mask and moisturiser, plus bowls, sponges, headband, couch roll and the usual consultation and hygiene supplies. Our Facial Kit covers the products; it is optional, and if you already retail a skincare line, practising with that makes more commercial sense.

How Long Does the Facial Course Take?

There are 26 units across four modules. The treatment module is only three units, but one of them is the full facial routine, which is the longest single practical piece on any of our beauty courses — a facial is an hour of linked steps rather than one technique. Most students complete their training within a few weeks to a few months.

How Is the Course Delivered?

Entirely online. The routine unit is filmed as a continuous treatment rather than in fragments, so you can follow the order and the pacing — which is what clients actually judge a facial on. You practise on your own models.

How Am I Assessed?

All 26 units are assessed, with unlimited resubmissions. The facial module is assessed on the whole sequence, not individual steps: whether the products you chose matched the skin you described, and whether the routine flows.

Is the Facial Course Accredited?

Yes — by ABT, IPHM and IGCT. The certificate is recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens, each setting its own requirements. This is also the certificate most insurers want to see before they will add advanced skin treatments to your policy.

Do I Need This Before the Advanced Skin Courses?

It is not a formal prerequisite, but it is the sensible order. Microdermabrasion, peels and dermaplaning all start from a prepared skin and a consultation you can stand behind, and both of those are taught here.

Do I Need to Buy the Kit?

No. The Facial Kit is our least expensive product kit. Many students practise with a retail line they already stock, which has the advantage that what you learn on is what you will sell.

What Business Training Is Included?

The Foundation module’s 12 units cover business promotion, promoting products and services, retail legislation, reception duties and taking payments. Facials are the treatment where retail actually happens, so the two units on promoting and selling products earn more here than on any other course.
