Skin is where clients become long-term rather than occasional. Someone who trusts you with her face books a course of treatments, asks what to use at home, and comes back when something changes.
This package suits a therapist who already offers facials and keeps being asked for the advanced treatments, and it suits a careful beginner — nothing is assumed, and the theory starts from the beginning.
If you only want the basic facial, that course on its own costs a great deal less.
Advanced skin work is a sequence, not a single service. A client rarely needs one treatment; she needs the right one for her skin today and a different one in six weeks.
Covering six together means you can build a plan rather than sell whatever you happen to offer, and the shared skin theory is studied once instead of six times.
Nine modules and fifty-seven assessed units.
Enrol when it suits you — no start dates to work around — and split the cost across three payments with Klarna or Clearpay if that is easier.
Lifetime access, no deadline, and unlimited resubmissions on assessed work. Each treatment carries its own certificate, so facials can be booked in while microneedling-level work is still ahead of you. Business training and the private student groups are included.
Skin theory is the heaviest reading we set, and it is what makes the rest safe. Take your time with it.
There are 57 units across nine modules, so this is a substantially bigger undertaking than a single treatment course — think months rather than weeks if you are working alongside it. Nothing expires, and most students take one treatment module at a time, get confident with it, and then start the next.
Taking them one at a time is exactly what online suits. You can finish the facial routines, start offering them, and come back for microdermabrasion when you have bought a machine — something a classroom course booked for one weekend cannot accommodate. Each module has its own video demonstrations and its own practical work.
Every one of the 57 units carries its own assessment, submitted online as you reach it. Every unit is assessed, and if an assessment needs another try there is no limit on resubmissions and no extra charge. Because the six treatments are assessed within their own modules, you can complete and be assessed on one treatment before starting the next.
Partly, and it is worth being precise. The Facial and Skincare and Luxury Facial modules are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT. The four advanced skin treatments — microdermabrasion, hydradermabrasion, chemical peels and LED light therapy — are certificated on completion rather than accredited, as they are when bought individually.
No, and this package is one of the few sensible routes in for a complete beginner, because it starts with the standard facial rather than dropping you straight into machine work. Work through the modules in the order they are listed and the course builds from consultation and facial massage up to the advanced treatments.
The facial modules need only products and towels. Beyond that you will need a microdermabrasion machine, a hydradermabrasion machine, peel products and an LED device — but not all at once. Buying as you reach each module spreads the cost, which is the main practical advantage of taking the treatments in sequence.
Yes. The Foundation module runs to twelve units on promotion, retail, payments, reception duties and the legislation that applies. With six treatments to sell, the more useful exercise is building a menu where the facial brings clients in monthly and the advanced treatments are what you offer them once they trust you.
Yes. You can spread the cost over three interest-free payments at the checkout.
Your diploma is issued by Next Step Beauty and carries accreditation from the bodies below. Those accreditations are what insurers look for when you come to arrange cover.
Your login details arrive by email as soon as you enrol, and the platform works on a computer, tablet or phone. Each unit has tutorial videos and an eBook covering the theory, followed by a multiple-choice assessment you can retake as often as you need. Completing a module unlocks the next one.
Once you have worked through the theory, you submit case studies of your practical work. Your tutor assesses them against industry standards and gives you written feedback. If they ask for changes, you can resubmit as many times as you need, at no extra cost.
When you complete the course you receive a diploma certificate, available to download straight away and yours to keep. Your course materials stay available for life, so you can go back over anything later.

Victoria Arpels
Founder and Head of Training
Victoria started where most of our students start. She trained in beauty therapy while working as a therapist in a busy spa — learning the theory in one place and practising on real clients in the other.
Then she kept adding to what she could offer, building up treatment by treatment through intensive specialist courses, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Certificate in Education, and to lecture in further education. She has been the student learning an unfamiliar technique and the tutor assessing someone else’s work, which is a large part of why our courses are built the way they are.
She founded Next Step Beauty in 2008 because getting good training still came down to what you could afford and how close you happened to be to a college. More than 100,000 students have trained with us since.
She has stayed close to the teaching rather than stepping back from it. As Head of Training, Victoria works with the tutor team who assess the case studies you submit and write the feedback that comes back to you, and she is personally involved in the private student groups. Whichever course you choose, you are learning from people who had to practise it themselves first.

Six facial and skin courses in one enrolment: the standard facial and the luxury facial routines, then microdermabrasion, hydradermabrasion, chemical peels and LED light therapy. It takes you from the facial a client books monthly through to the advanced treatments they book in courses, which is most of a skin menu in one go.
