Anyone who wants a treatment that rebooks itself. Waxing clients return on a cycle their own regrowth sets, which makes it one of the most dependable things to build a diary around.
No experience is needed. It also suits a therapist who offers warm wax only and has to turn away the clients who need hot.
Warm wax handles legs, arms and large areas quickly. Hot wax is what you need for intimate work, underarms and faces — coarser hair, more sensitive skin, and the clients most likely to have been let down elsewhere.
Offering only one means turning away the bookings that pay best. Learning both together costs less than the two courses separately, and the Foundation and skin theory is covered once.
Five modules and thirty-two assessed units.
Enrol any day of the year; nothing waits for a term to start. Klarna and Clearpay both offer three-payment plans at checkout.
Access does not expire, there is no deadline, and you can resubmit assessed work as often as you need. You collect a certificate for each wax type as you complete it. Business training is included and the private student groups are open to you from the start.
Waxing is not glamorous and it is genuinely good work to have. Clients remember who did it well.
You need both wax types and a pot that holds temperature for each, strips and spatulas, pre- and post-wax products, gloves and the usual consultation and hygiene supplies. Our Complete Waxing Kit covers both sides in one order and is optional.
There are 32 units across five modules — nine of them on waxing itself, split between the two wax types. The practical work is the longer half, because you are learning two techniques and the areas they each suit. Most students complete their training within a few weeks to a few months.
Not always — it depends on what the individual courses are priced at when you look. What the package reliably saves you is the repetition: the 23 shared foundation units are studied once instead of twice. If price is the deciding factor, compare it against the two courses on the day and take whichever suits.
Entirely online, with each wax type demonstrated separately by Victoria rather than as variations on one technique — the removal is genuinely different, and watching them back to back is the clearest way to see why. You supply your own models.
All 32 units are assessed and you can resubmit as often as you need. The two waxing modules are assessed separately, so a strong strip wax does not carry a weak hot wax — you need both to a standard before the certificates are issued.
Two — one for Waxing and one for Hot Waxing. That matters for insurance, because policies commonly list wax types separately, and two certificates is what you will be asked for.
Yes — both certificates are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT, and recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens. Intimate waxing is frequently listed as its own category on a policy, so check that separately with your insurer, which sets its own requirements.
No. The Complete Waxing Kit supplies both wax types together, which is the one genuine convenience here — buying separately, the risk is ending up with a heater that suits one wax and not the other.
The Foundation module’s 12 units cover business promotion, promoting products and services, retail legislation, reception duties and taking payments. Offering both wax types changes how you price — hot wax carries a higher charge per area — so the pricing and promotion units are worth reading with that in mind.
Tutor feedback on every assessment, our private student group, and lifetime access to both sets of materials.
Your diploma is issued by Next Step Beauty and carries accreditation from the bodies below. Those accreditations are what insurers look for when you come to arrange cover.
Your login details arrive by email as soon as you enrol, and the platform works on a computer, tablet or phone. Each unit has tutorial videos and an eBook covering the theory, followed by a multiple-choice assessment you can retake as often as you need. Completing a module unlocks the next one.
Once you have worked through the theory, you submit case studies of your practical work. Your tutor assesses them against industry standards and gives you written feedback. If they ask for changes, you can resubmit as many times as you need, at no extra cost.
When you complete the course you receive a diploma certificate, available to download straight away and yours to keep. Your course materials stay available for life, so you can go back over anything later.

Victoria Arpels
Founder and Head of Training
Victoria started where most of our students start. She trained in beauty therapy while working as a therapist in a busy spa — learning the theory in one place and practising on real clients in the other.
Then she kept adding to what she could offer, building up treatment by treatment through intensive specialist courses, before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) and a Certificate in Education, and to lecture in further education. She has been the student learning an unfamiliar technique and the tutor assessing someone else’s work, which is a large part of why our courses are built the way they are.
She founded Next Step Beauty in 2008 because getting good training still came down to what you could afford and how close you happened to be to a college. More than 100,000 students have trained with us since.
She has stayed close to the teaching rather than stepping back from it. As Head of Training, Victoria works with the tutor team who assess the case studies you submit and write the feedback that comes back to you, and she is personally involved in the private student groups. Whichever course you choose, you are learning from people who had to practise it themselves first.
