Lashes and brows are the treatments clients come back for on a cycle rather than once. Infills every two to three weeks, a lash lift every six to eight, brows somewhere in between. Our courses cover both sides of the eye menu, from a first set of classic lashes to Russian volume, lamination and henna.

I Want to Start With Lashes
The Eyelash Extensions Course is £75 in the current sale and teaches classic one-to-one application, from eye shape and isolation through to aftercare. It is the set most clients book first and the base Russian volume builds on.
I Want the Full Eye Menu
The Complete Eye Course brings five courses into one enrolment: eyelash enhancement, extensions, lash lift, Russian volume and threading. Bought separately those come to £375, so the package is the cheaper route as well as the faster one.
I Already Work in Beauty
Brows are the quickest addition to an existing menu and the one clients rebook most often. Lamination and henna sit alongside tinting and shaping without needing a separate appointment slot.
Eye Course Package
Five eye treatments in one enrolment, with the shared theory taught once rather than repeated on every course. Bought separately they come to £375. Each course is assessed and certified separately, so you finish with a certificate for each treatment.
- Lifetime Course Access
- Tutor Feedback & Support
- Tutor-Assessed Diplomas
- Private Student Group
The lash and brow treatments clients rebook on a cycle, learned together so you can offer the full eye menu.
5 courses in one package.

I did the Russian lash course and found it really easy and straight forward. It’s great that you can replay the tutorials when practising. I’m now confident and doing really well with my lashes. I will be booking more courses! Over all really good service where you can learn in your own time at your own home!
I have really enjoyed both my lash lift and dermaplaning courses. They gave plenty of information and the video guidance is really easy to follow. There is always online support through the group and through Next Step Beauty
As a qualified Beauty Therapist I wanted to add on some extra treatments to offer. I signed up to the online lashlift course, it was fab. The workbooks were full of information and the tutorial videos were easily explained to help you. I really enjoyed doing this course and how there was so much information given. On to my next course now….. eyelash extensions!!
Meet Your Tutor
Victoria Arpels BA (Hons), Cert Ed
Victoria trained in beauty therapy, worked in a busy spa and lectured in further education colleges before founding Next Step Beauty in 2008. Since then, Next Step Beauty has taught more than 100,000 students, with learners in 65 countries and territories across six continents. Victoria demonstrates the techniques in our course videos and, with our tutor team, supports students through personal feedback on their case studies and our private student groups.
Lash Courses
Classic extensions through to Russian volume, plus the lift that needs no infills. Each course covers eye anatomy, contra-indications and patch testing before the technique itself, with your practical work assessed by a tutor who writes back to you. All are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT.
Brow Courses
Shaping, tinting, lamination and henna — short treatments that fill the gaps between longer appointments and bring clients back every few weeks. Threading is here too, since it is the brow shaping method clients ask for by name. All are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT.
Semi-Permanent Brow & Eyeliner Courses
Pigment placed into the skin with a machine, or a blade in the case of microblading, so the result lasts months rather than weeks. It is a separate discipline from lash and brow work, at a higher price point, and clients return to have it topped up. These courses are certificated by Next Step Beauty rather than accredited. For lips and the full package, see our SPMU courses.

After Your Course: From Diploma to Your First Clients
Finishing your course is the start of the next step. Here’s how students go from learning to working with clients.
1. Practise on Your Models
You will practise on models and photograph your work as you go. Lash work in particular is judged on consistency across a full set, so the practical hours are the course.
2. Get Your Diploma
Pass your assessed case studies and receive your diploma certificate. If an assessment needs another try, you can resubmit as many times as you need.
3. Plan Your Business
Business training is included with every course to help you set your prices, present your work and find your first clients.
4. Keep Growing
Add a second or third treatment as your client list grows. A lash client sitting with you every three weeks is the easiest person in your diary to book in for brows.
Why Choose a Career in Lashes and Brows?
Lashes and brows run on a maintenance cycle. Extensions need infills every two to three weeks, a lash lift lasts six to eight, brows sit in between — so once a client is on your books the rebook is part of the treatment rather than something you have to win each time.
- Built-In Infills: extensions need topping up every two to three weeks, which fills a diary faster than any one-off treatment.
- Small Space, Small Kit: a couch, good light and a tile of lashes. No machine and no plumbing.
- Brows Are The Quick Win: a shape and tint takes a fraction of a lash appointment and slots between longer bookings.
- Clear Progression: classic lashes first, then Russian volume, then lamination and henna as your confidence grows.
Lash and Brow Treatments Explained
Not sure what separates a lash lift from extensions, or lamination from henna? Here is what each treatment does and who it suits.
Eyelash Extensions
One extension bonded to one natural lash, repeated across the eye. The classic set clients book first, and the technique everything else in lashes is built on.
Russian Volume
Several ultra-fine lashes fanned onto one natural lash for a denser look. Slower to apply, priced higher, and the usual next step after classic.
Lash Lift
The client’s own lashes curled from the root and tinted. No infills and no adhesive, which suits clients who want low maintenance.
Eyelash Enhancement
Tinting and shaping that frames the eye without extensions. A short appointment and a natural first step for a nervous client.
Strip and Individual Lashes
Temporary lashes applied for an event rather than bonded for weeks. Fast, affordable and the treatment weddings and parties book.
Brow Lamination
Brow hairs set in a brushed-up direction for several weeks. It makes sparse or unruly brows look fuller without tinting or tattooing.
Henna Brows
A plant dye that stains the skin beneath the hair as well as the hair itself, so the shape holds longer than a standard tint.
Eyebrow Definition
Shaping and tinting to suit the face in front of you. The groundwork every other brow treatment assumes.
Threading
Hair removed with a twisted cotton thread rather than wax. Precise on the brow line and suitable for skin that reacts to wax.
Microblading
Fine strokes cut into the skin with a hand tool and filled with pigment, mimicking individual brow hairs. Lasts months rather than weeks and is topped up rather than redone.
Ombre and Powder Brows
A soft, shaded brow built with a semi-permanent machine rather than a blade. Suits oily skin better than microblading and gives a make-up-style finish.
Semi-Permanent Eyeliner
Pigment placed along the lash line, from a fine lash enhancement through to a defined liner, so the client wakes with it already done.
Lash Lift vs Classic Extensions vs Russian Volume
All three change how the eye reads. They differ in what they do to the natural lash, how long they last and what the client commits to.
| Lash Lift | Classic Extensions | Russian Volume | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What happens | The natural lash is curled and tinted | One extension bonded to one natural lash | A fan of fine lashes bonded to one natural lash |
| Look | The client’s own lashes, lifted | Longer, defined, still natural | Dense and full |
| How long it lasts | Six to eight weeks, no infills | Infills every two to three weeks | Infills every two to three weeks |
| Appointment length | Short | Longer | Longest |
| Suits | Clients wanting low maintenance | A first set of extensions | Clients who want obvious volume |
| Course | Lash Lift | Eyelash Extensions | Russian Lashes |
Patch testing, contra-indications and aftercare are covered in each course. Most lash technicians offer all three and let the client choose by budget and upkeep.
Lash and Brow Courses UK: Train in Eye Treatments Online
Our online lash and brow courses cover the full eye menu: classic extensions, Russian volume, lash lifting, tinting and enhancement on the lash side, and shaping, lamination, henna and threading on the brow side.
Every course starts with the eye itself — anatomy, the lash growth cycle, contra-indications and patch testing — because that is what keeps a client safe and what separates a technician from someone who can stick lashes on. The technique follows, demonstrated on video by Victoria, and you work at your own pace with no deadlines and no timetable.
You keep your course materials for life, so you can go back to a demonstration months later when a client asks for something you have not done in a while. Your practical work is assessed by a tutor who writes back to you with feedback, and if an assessment needs another go you can resubmit as many times as you need at no extra cost.
Business training is included with every course, covering pricing, presenting your work and finding your first clients, and you can join our private student groups to ask questions and see what other students are producing.
The lash and brow courses are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT, and are recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens. Every insurer sets its own requirements, so check with yours before you take paying clients. The semi-permanent courses — microblading, ombre and powder brows and semi-permanent eyeliner — are certificated by Next Step Beauty rather than accredited.
Most students complete within a few weeks to a few months, and you can pay in three with Klarna or EziPay. More than 100,000 students across 65 countries have trained with us since 2008.

What Our Students Say
I would definitely recommend this training course! I completed my eyelash and eyebrow training online through videos, and I found the whole course really easy to follow and understand. The videos were clear, detailed and explained everything step by step, which made learning from home so much easier. I really enjoyed being able to work through the training at my own pace and go back over anything I needed to. I've learnt so much and feel much more confident in my lash and brow skills.
Beth
I did the henna brows course. Learning materials were easy to understand and excellent customer service. If I had any questions, my teacher quickly explained. Best online course I have ever done. Thank you.
Andra Rusina
Overall a very good online course. Learnt a lot about brows and the theory. Would highly recommend.

Lash & Brow Course FAQs
Do I Need Any Experience to Start?
None. Every lash and brow course starts from the beginning, with eye anatomy, the lash growth cycle and contra-indications before you go near a client.
If you are new to the eye area entirely, start with Eyelash Extensions or Eyebrow Definition. Russian volume assumes you are already confident isolating a single natural lash, so it is the one to take second rather than first.
Can I Really Learn Lashes Online?
Lash work is close, detailed and repetitive, which is exactly what video suits — the camera sits where your eyes would be, and you can replay an isolation or a fan pick-up as many times as you need. Students regularly tell us replaying the tutorials while practising is what made it click.
What video cannot do is steady your hand. The practical work is yours to do on models, and that is what your tutor assesses.
Do I Need Models?
Yes. Every course is assessed on treatments you carry out on real people and photograph as you go, so you will need willing models before you can finish.
Friends and family are fine. For extensions you want someone prepared to lie still for a couple of hours, and for a lash lift or tint you need a model who has had a patch test first.
What Kit Will I Need?
For lashes: extensions in a range of lengths and curls, adhesive, tweezers for isolation and pick-up, primer, tape, under-eye pads and a remover. Russian volume needs finer lashes and a second pair of tweezers.
For brows: tint or henna, a shaping kit, lamination solutions and a brush set. Threading needs nothing but cotton thread and practice.
You can add a professional kit when you enrol or use what you already own.
Are These Courses Accredited?
The lash and brow courses — extensions, Russian volume, lash lift, enhancement, strip lashes, brow definition, lamination, henna and threading — are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT, and are recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens. Every insurer sets its own requirements, so check with yours before you take paying clients.
The semi-permanent courses — microblading, ombre and powder brows, and semi-permanent eyeliner — are certificated by Next Step Beauty rather than accredited.
How Long Will It Take?
There is no set length. A single lash or brow course is often finished within a few weeks, and students taking the Complete Eye Course usually work through it over a couple of months. Because access is for life, a quiet month costs you nothing.
Should I Learn Lashes or Brows First?
Brows if you want to be taking bookings quickly. A shape and tint is a short appointment, the kit is inexpensive and clients rebook every few weeks.
Lashes if you want the higher value appointment and the infill cycle that comes with it. Start with classic extensions, add Russian volume once isolation feels automatic, and keep lash lift on the menu for clients who do not want upkeep.
Semi-permanent is a separate step again rather than a progression from either — a machine or blade, a different consultation and a result the client lives with for months.
