Great courses that you can do in you're own time. Includes booklet and really clear videos to help you pass with ease and learn new skills
I decided to sign up to complete my gel nail courses through next step due to a friend recommending it! I would not look back! Everything you need to get started is all available to you when you sign up, endless workbooks, step by step guides and videos! The team are also so incredibly helpful
I have really enjoyed both my lash lift and dermaplaning courses. They gave plenty of information and the video guidance is really easy to follow. There is always online support through the group and through Next Step Beauty
Online Beauty & Nail Courses, Studied From Home
Next Step Beauty has been teaching beauty skills since 2008. Everything on this page is studied online, at your own pace, with your practical work assessed by a tutor — so you can train around work, family or an existing client list.
There are no deadlines and no term dates. Most students finish a course in anywhere from a few weeks to a few months, depending on how much time they can give it. You work through tutorial videos and an eBook for each unit, take a short assessment you can retake as often as you need, then practise the treatment and submit case studies of your own work. Victoria Arpels, BA (Hons), Cert Ed demonstrates the techniques in the tutorial videos and marks the assessed work herself, and if she asks for changes you resubmit as many times as you need at no extra cost.
Choosing Where To Start
If you are new to the industry, start with what you want to be able to offer rather than with a qualification title. Someone building a nail service usually begins with manicure and gel polish before adding extensions or acrylic. Someone building a salon menu more often starts with facials or lashes and brows, then widens out. If you already work in beauty and want to add one treatment, a single course is usually the sensible route — check the entry requirements on the course page first, because a few of the advanced courses assume existing training.
Where you want several skills, a course package puts them into one enrolment. The shared foundation and anatomy material is taught once instead of repeated on every course, and you receive a separate certificate for each course in the package rather than one combined certificate.
What Comes With Every Course
Business training is included as standard, covering hygiene, insurance, health and safety, pricing and promoting what you offer — the groundwork of working with clients professionally, whether you plan to go mobile, work from home or join a salon. You also get access to our private student groups, where you can see other learners’ work and ask questions as you go. Your course materials stay available for life, so you can go back over a technique long after you have passed.
Kits are optional. You can practise with products and tools you already own, or add a kit when you enrol so everything arrives together. Payment can be spread over three interest-free instalments with Klarna or EziPay, and there is a 14-day money-back guarantee if you change your mind.
Accreditation & Insurance
Most of our courses are accredited by ABT, IPHM and IGCT, and Next Step Beauty is listed on the UK Register of Learning Providers. You receive an accredited diploma on completion rather than an Ofqual-regulated qualification, and each course page states its own accreditation.
Our semi-permanent make up and advanced skin courses are professional training with a certificate on completion and are not accredited. Semi-permanent make up is a skin-piercing treatment, so before offering it to clients you will need to check what registration or licensing your local council requires.
Certificates are recognised by insurers including Towergate, Radius, Insync and Balens. Insurers set their own requirements, so your certificate is what you present to them when you arrange cover.
